Currently starring as J’onn J’onzz in critically-acclaimed TV series Supergirl, David Harewood (Homeland, The Night Manager) is the latest guest to be confirmed for MCM London Comic Con, appearing on the Saturday of this month’s ExCel event.
The Director of the Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO), Harewood’s character J’onn J’onzz is the Martian Manhunter – the sole survivor of the peaceful race of Green Martians who takes on original DEO director Hank Henshaw’s likeness in order to reform the organisation from within and watch over Supergirl and her adoptive sister Alex.
Birmingham-born Harewood also has a recurring role as Henshaw himself – although initially presumed dead, the ruthless anti-alien obsessive has resurfaced as Cyborg Superman, a creation of Lillian Luthor’s sinister Project Cadmus.
The classically-trained actor is also known for his roles in two top draw TV spy dramas, playing CIA counter-terrorism head David Estes in long-running US thriller Homeland and Joel Steadman in the BBC’s award-winning le Carré adaptation, The Night Manager.
MCM London returns to ExCel London on 25-27 May. Tickets to the show are available here.
