Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Black Sails and The 100 star Zach McGowan and prolific animation and videogame voice actor Robin Atkin Downes will be making their MCM Manchester debuts at July’s comic con, show organisers have announced.
McGowan’s best known roles include villainous Russian industrialist and hate group leader The Superior in Marvel superhero show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; hot-tempered English pirate Charles Vane in buccaneering Starz drama Black Sails and Roan, the king of the Ice Nation, in post-apocalypse sci-fi show The 100. He also played recovering sex addict Jody in the American version of black comedy Shameless.
New York native McGowan’s other small screen appearances include Lethal Weapon, Cold Case, Numb3rs and CSI: Miami, while his movie credits include Terminator Salvation, Dracula Untold and the upcoming Death Race: Beyond Anarchy.
Meanwhile, Downes’ videogame credits range from The Medic in Team Fortress 2, The Riddler in Batman: The Enemy Within, Kazuhira Miller in Metal Gear Solid and Atoq Navarro in Uncharted to Travis Touchdown in No More Heroes, George Washington in Assassin’s Creed III, Lieutenant Kim in Gears of War and Halo’s The Prophet of Regret.
The British actor has also voiced characters for a host of animated films and TV shows, including How to Train Your Dragon; Batman: The Brave and the Bold; Avengers Assemble; Star Wars Rebels; Voltron; Avatar: The Last Airbender and Katsuhiro Otomo-helmed anime Steamboy.
