Sony has revealed that since the launch of the original PlayStation back in December 1994, they have sold over 500 million PlayStation systems around the world (according to Sony, it’s 525.3 million). To celebrate this milestone, Sony will release a limited edition PS4 Pro 500 Million console this August.
The PS4 Pro 500 Million console has a dark blue translucent case with a gold PS logo in the middle and a copper plate on the front listing its limited edition number. It comes with a 2TB hard drive, a special matching dark blue translucent Dualshock 4 controller, a vertical stand, headset and a PS Camera. It is limited to just 50,000 units and will retail for £449.99 / $499.99.
The 500 Million Limited Edition Dualshock 4 is also available to purchase separately for £54.99 / $64.99.
Sony has also produced a video which features each of the PlayStation consoles, popular games exclusive to PlayStation (Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, God of War) and gamers holding their newly purchased PlayStation consoles above their heads.
The PS4 Pro 500 Million console is available from select retailers from 24th August 2018.
