There’s another game to add alongside the likes of Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors on the Switch for our fill of cathartic hack-and-slash action, now that Koei Tecmo has announced Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition will be available for the first time digitally on Nintendo’s hybrid console from December 27.
As an entirely new compilation, it will include all content from the original Dynasty Warriors 8 plus everything that was also featured in Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends. Koei Tecmo adds that “almost all of the DLC released to date” will also be included, so that’s a handful of new costumes and side-story scenarios for many characters. You’ll also get bonus costumes if you own Warriors Orochi 4 on Switch.
If you’ve never played Dynasty Warriors 8 before, there’s not much new to say that hasn’t been said about the long-running series before. The eighth instalment did add the new Ambition Mode, as well as a few tweaked mechanics that veterans players will appreciate, but you know what you’re in for on the name alone.
Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition will be released for Nintendo Switch on December 27. It’ll be available on the eShop at a 10% discount for the first week of sale.
