Anime blockbuster Dragon Ball Super: Broly is to get a Blu-ray release this May, with distributor Manga Entertainment today announcing that the latest Dragon Ball movie will be released in the UK as a limited edition Blu-ray SteelBook on Monday 27 May.

Still showing in select cinemas across the UK and Ireland, the critically-acclaimed Dragon Ball Super: Broly is now the second biggest anime earner at the British box office, with only Hayao Miyazaki’s 2001 masterpiece Spirited Away currently ahead in the rankings. Broly’s limited edition Blu-ray version can be pre-ordered from Zavvi here, and Manga Entertainment adds that details of the film’s release on other formats will be coming soon.

Directed by erstwhile Dragon Ball Super helmer Tatsuya Nagamine and scripted by franchise creator Akira Toriyama, Toei Animation’s Dragon Ball Super: Broly is the highest-grossing Dragon Ball film ever, with its stellar performance at Japanese cinemas and worldwide already making it one of the most successful anime films of all time.
